Desert Marathon de los Monegros

This extreme test of self-sufficiency and endurance held in the desert of Monegros (Aragón) aims to become famous throughout Europe. The race, as well as a sporting event is a challenge of survival and planning and consists of a non-stop route of 120 kilometres which must be covered in less than 27 hours. The Isostar Desert Marathon takes place the weekend of 14th and 15th of July and is an open challenge to anyone capable of facing a stern test athletically, physically and mentally. Participants have to compete in the Monegros desert, a place with features unique to this part of Europe. Temperatures can reach 40 degrees. Self-sufficiency rules mean that participants must carry a backpack which must include food and clothing as they see fit, and safety equipment for use in case of accident.

Isostar Desert Marathon "Starter"

The "Starter" will also be a self-sufficiency desert race on foot and it will have harsh environmental conditions, but on a shorter 40 to 45 km, making it much more accessible. This test is designed to be an introductory race to the world of desert racing in semi self-sufficiency.
